Like many of today’s best filmmakers, Justin Dornbush grew up making short films for fun. At the age of 15, while taking a Mass Media class in High School, he was selected to be the editor of a short Super 8MM film. Justin knew instantly that filmmaking could no longer just be a hobby. With editing, he had found his passion and has been cutting ever since. During school he dedicated every free moment to studying the art of editing and cutting every project he could get his hands on. While attending the world renowned film school at The University of Southern California, Justin’s production class was asked what they wanted to do in film. As expected there were many Directors in the group. Justin was the only student who stood up and said he wanted nothing more then to edit. Upon graduating Justin began professionally editing for such networks as The Learning Channel, Fine Living, The Discovery Channel, G4TV and NBCUniversal. He has continued to grow artistically by working on many independent films, including Bloomington, Entry Level, Fool Me Once, Missy and The Maxinator, The Other Side, Dance of the Dead and Enigma which garnered him a nomination for Best Editing at the LA Reel film festival. Justin’s passion for editing continues to grow with every project and he can’t wait for his next endeavor.
